The Tyre "Breakthrough Noise-Reduction Technology"

You Didn't Know About — Silent Foam

With the rise of new energy vehicles, the quietness of electric motors has made tyre noise the main source of cabin noise. Automakers are now paying more attention to noise-reduction configurations — evolving from simply attaching silent foam inside the tyre to today’s embedded or vulcanized integrated technology, which greatly improves durability and bonding strength.

What is Silent Foam and Why Do You Need It?

Silent foam is a special layer of foam installed on the inner surface of the tyre. It is only a few millimeters thick, yet its material and design are highly specialized. Usually made from polyurethane or polyester fibers, it is filled with microscopic honeycomb pores that effectively absorb tyre noise and reduce overall sound levels.

When a traditional tyre is rolling, tread friction with the road and air compression generates noise — especially noticeable at high speeds.      Silent foam absorbs these sound waves, converts them into heat, and dissipates them, reducing cabin noise by 3–5 decibels — the equivalent of going from a busy street into a quiet library.

How to Identify Tyres with Sound-Absorbing Cotton?

Check the sidewall markings: Some tyres label whether they contain sound-absorbing cotton.

Look at the appearance: Some tyres have an extra thick layer inside — that could be the foam.

Ask the sales rep: Confirm directly whether the tyre includes sound-absorbing cotton.

Read the tyre label: Some tyres include a decibel (dB) value indicating noise level — the lower, the quieter.

Install Silent Foam, Upgrade Anytime!

Silent foam is no longer limited to tyres that come with it from the factory.  Now, we provide separate silent foam material and professional installation service.
